[Workout Log] New Bench Press PR! Reflecting on the Day I Broke My Limits

Workout

Hello everyone!

Today, I want to share a very exciting personal milestone regarding my daily workout routine and keep it here as a record.

I finally hit a new Personal Record (PR) on the bench press!

I’ll keep the exact numbers a secret, but I finally broke through a major wall I had been aiming for. The sense of achievement I felt the moment I pushed that barbell all the way up was simply indescribable.

How I Overcame the Plateau

To be honest, for a while recently, my bench press progress had completely stalled. There were days when my motivation took a hit, thinking, “Am I just going to fail at the same weight again today?”

But I didn’t give up, and I think a few key factors contributed to hitting this new PR.

First, a complete review of my form. I checked if my form was breaking down because I was chasing heavier weights. I refocused on the basics, like retracting my shoulder blades and driving through my feet.

Second, improving my nutrition. To maintain the quality of my workouts, I made sure to consume enough calories and protein to fill my body with the energy needed for muscle recovery and growth. It feels like all that steady, daily effort finally translated into raw strength.

Thoughts on Breaking My Limits

That mental block of thinking, “I might not be able to lift any more than this,” is surprisingly a huge factor.

This time, right from the warm-up, I had this feeling: “I’m feeling pretty good today.” Deciding to just go for the heavier weight turned out to be exactly the right call. The fact that I could surpass my past self is a huge motivation boost, not just for training, but for my daily life as well.

Looking Towards the Next Goal

I’m thrilled to have broken my PR, but I won’t stop here; I want to take the next step.

For a while, I’ll focus on solidifying my form so I can consistently incorporate this new weight into my regular sets, continuing my training while being extremely careful to avoid injury.

I’ll keep doing my best so I can share more good news! I’ll continue to post my training logs and discoveries, so stay tuned.
